The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Energy Club of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a one day seminar on Awareness in Electrical Sector Cyber Security on 5th Jan 2024. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and insisted the importance of cyber security in electrical sector to the students.
Mrs.Archana Manikandan, Entrepreneur & Trainer, Green CAD Technology, Namakkal, was the guest speaker. She began her seminar by saying that Cyber security in the field of electrical engineering is crucial as modern electrical systems and devices are becoming increasingly interconnected and reliant on digital technologies. Protecting these systems from cyber threats is essential to ensure the reliability, safety, and integrity of electrical infrastructure. She insisted the security measures like network segmentation, access control, and regular vulnerability assessments to secure SCADA and ICS. Secure Communication: Ensure that communication between electrical devices, sensors, and control systems is encrypted and authenticated to prevent eavesdropping and data manipulation.
Then, she explained that what engineering concepts are utilized in cyber security, discover powerful methods to solve urgent problems and opportunities to advance the career for the students.
