The Department of EEE & Energy Club, Paavai Engineering College, has scheduled “Student Activities” for February 27, 2024, at T112. Oral presentations, role-play, and student tech talks were organized to assist students majoring in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in enhancing their extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Students in their pre-final year of EEE participated in the events. Recent topics covered by the students include: climate change, ozone layer depletion, reducing water levels, waste management, reducing the green cover of the earth, e-waste management, natural disasters, and their impact on economic growth. Disaster Management, Over and Improper Use of Natural Resources, Air, Water, and Soil Pollution, Efficiency of Recycling, Technology, and Mental Health The Impact of Technology on Society, Artificial Intelligence: The New Normal, The Role of Social Media in Communication and Social Interactions, Sustainable Technology: Innovations for a Greener Future, The Rise of E-Commerce, Social Media: Bane or Boon? Pros and Cons of Online Learning, Human Rights, Environment Conservation, Equality, Capitalism, Communism, Unemployment, Corruption, Social Distancing, Organ Donation, The importance of the right to education, the impact of globalization, Honesty is the best policy, knowledge is power, the importance of unity, the importance of value education, leadership skills, the benefits of co-education, the rise of technology, the importance of social media, and the Indian education system.
Role-play activities are performed by the students individually and in groups to build up experience and self-confidence in handling situations in real life, and they can develop quick and instinctively correct reactions to situations.
Further group discussions were conducted to assess the student participants’ abilities to cooperate, communicate, and present ideas in a group setting. Mr. Jaganathan, Pre-Final Year EEE, has presented a topic on “The Secrets” in Student Tech Talk. Based on their performances, the juries—Mr. M. Raja, Mr.G.Deivamani, and Mr. V. Kumarakrishnan—selected the best presentation. Top performers received recognition from Dr. G. Balaji, HoD/EEE.
This student activity was organized by department head and professor Dr. G. Balaji, with Mr. V. Kumarakrishnan functioning as coordinator. III-year Energy Club member Mr. Deepakkumar offered the vote of thanks, and IV-year Energy Club member Mr. Prasanth welcomed everyone to the occasion.
