The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Energy Club of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a One Day Webinar on Measurement Technology and Instrument for Research and Innovation on 14th February 2023. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and insisted the importance of Measurement Technology and Instrument in research work.
The guest speaker was Dr.M.Sangeetha, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, M.A.M School of Engineering, Trichy. She highlighted the needs of measuring systems with types and the metrics used in measurement system with real time examples. She discussed the difficult terminologies in measurement and the elements used in simple closed loop control systems. She described the importance of measurement technology in all scientific and technical fields (mechanical, electrical, optical and acoustic signals, etc.).She explained how the measurement technology is implemented in artificial intelligence, military test equipment’s and about the related instruments. She overviewed the concept of measurement theory that how numbers are assigned to objects and phenomena, and its concerns include the kinds of things that can be measured, how different measures relate to each other, and the problem of error in the measurement process.

Earlier G.Emmanvel, II year EEE welcomed the gathering, Mr. Komara Prasad, III Year EEE introduced the chief guest and, K.Sivaranam II Year EEE delivered the vote of thanks.
Totally 150 students benefited from the programme.
