The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with Energy Club of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a one day webinar on Modernization of the Grid and Distributed Energy Systems on 21st September 2022. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and insisted the importance of Modernization of the Grid and Distributed Energy Systems.
The guest speaker was Prof. Ravi Samikannu, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering, Botswana International University of Science and Technology, Palapye, Botswana. He emphasized the significance of a modernized grid that allows for two-way communication and data flow, providing operators with a better understanding of the grid’s current operational status. He discussed the smart grid communication infrastructure, must meet time synchronization, reliability, latency, data delivery criticality, and multicast support requirements and also he insisted that students to attend electrical-based smart grid-related conferences, seminars, and workshops to broaden their understanding of the modern smart grid.
The webinar was organized by Professor & Head of the Department Dr.G.Balaji and coordinated by Mrs.G.Uma Maheswari, Dr.S.Ramachandran and Mr.M.Raja.
