The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Paavai Engineering College organized an Guest lecture on “Internet of Thinks and its Applications” on 08 December, 2023 . Dr. R.S.Rajesh, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University were the resource person. The welcome address was given by R.Elakya, 2nd year EEE and Chief Guest introduction given by N.Kaviya, 2nd year EEE . The resource persons explained about the Internet of Things (IoT), its evolution, significance, and real-world applications across diverse industries. This Guest lecture commenced with a comprehensive introduction to IoT, defining it as a network of interconnected devices capable of sharing data and information. The core focus of the lecture revolved around practical applications of IoT across different domains: Smart Homes: Exploring how IoT devices are integrated to create efficient and automated home environments. Healthcare: Highlighting IoT’s role in remote patient monitoring, wearable health tech, and hospital management systems. Industrial IoT (IIoT): Discussing how IoT is transforming manufacturing processes, predictive maintenance, and supply chain logistics. Smart Cities: Exploring the implementation of IoT in urban development, traffic management, and environmental monitoring.
