The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Association with INSTITUTION’S INNOVATION COUNCIL has conducted webinar entitled of ‘Industrial Safety in Mining’ on 14.12.2022 (Wednesday). The Webinar started with welcome by Mr. Kumara Prasad of third year Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Around 90 students were participated in the webinar. It was convened by Prof Dr.G Balaji, Head of the Department.
The resource person of the day is Mr. I. A. Sathish, Head Safety Manager, Rampura Agucha Mine, Hindustan Zinc Limited, Bhilwara District, Rajasthan. The resource person enlightened us about the importance of mining safety and how to protect workers in mining. He gave a brief note on a lot of safety tips to reduce mining accidents, and he also discussed following safety procedures with modern safety equipment. He said about the people who are hesitant to work in mining due to unsafe working conditions, a lack of proper inspections, and noncompliance with occupational health and safety measures. The speaker shared about the most common causes of mine accidents, and he covered a wide range of workplace safety topics, identifying workplace hazards, implementing workplace safety programmes and providing proper safety training to employees. The students interacted with the guest speaker with their queries and illuminated themselves .The Webinar ended with vote of thanks Mr. P.VishwaBharath of third year of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
