The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the institution of engineers (India), Salem local centre, Salem, organized a workshop on “Industrial Approach in Digital System Design” on 23.11.2022, 10.00 a.m. at Cute hall, Paavai Engineering College. The program started with a prayer song by our ECE students. Dr. M. Sudha, Prof. HoD/ECE welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean-Academics on the digital environment of the current scenario compared with the olden days.
Er. P. Mayilsamy, Programmer, Design and Development, Crisp System India Pvt. Ltd, Salem delivered a keynote address on the development of digital systems for the real-time execution of digital transactions and smart city garbage management. His speech gave insight into estimating the social impact of the development of a digital system on human comfort. The highly interactive session was on the introduction of system design with Arduino micro controller and Raspberry Pi programming.
A practical session on programming an Arduino micro controller was also conducted. Around 92 students participated and acquired knowledge in developing an electronic system using the Arduino Controller and Raspberry Pi and making their own custom-made applications to solve some simple real world problems. It was intended to disseminate knowledge about industrial design processes of digital systems with Raspberry Pi programming.
Dr.T. Loganayagi, Professor and Dr.R. Mohana Priya, Associate Professor from the ECE department were the coordinators. Dr.M.Sudha, Head of the department, was the convenor. The workshop ended with a vote of thanks by Loshika K. S. II year ECE.
