The Department of Food Technology organized a webinar on “APPLICATION OF FOOD ADDITIVES IN FOOD INDUSTRIES AND ITS IMPACT ON HUMAN HEALTH” for students on 3rd July 2022, 11.00AM – 12.30 PM. Respected Dr. J PRAKASH MARAN, Associate professor, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Periyar University, Salem was the resource person of this session. The webinar witnessed an active participation from students across many departments. The total of 100+ participants registered and attended the webinar.
The main objective of the session is to provide the knowledge on additives and its impact on human health. The session started with prayer song, welcome address followed by the chief guest introduction, then the session was handover to the chief guest.It was an interactive1.30 hr session covered the overall view on additives, needs of additives, requirements, types, classes, and e codes used in industries for additives and preservatives. E-certificates were issued to all the participated candidates.
