The department of Mechatronics and Microbytes innovation club of Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day online webinar on “STEM the 21st Century Skill” on 8th April 2022. Mr. H.Bhuvan Shankar, prefinal year B.E/MCT welcomed the participants. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, motivated the students to learn about the stem education, Mr. H.Bhuvan Shankar pre-final year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest. Mr.Santha kumar B.E (CSE), PGDM (Marketing) Director of Big Bodhi Coimbatore was the chief guest. During his presentation, he advised the students to start building projects on their own, inspite of just following theoretical lessons. STEM means “science in everywhere in the world”. He further stressed that, students need to realize that technology is rapidly expanding in every aspect of our lives; engineering is a tool to design a solution that caters the basic needs. He also highlighted that the product/ project which the student develops need to identify the challenges, uses his knowledge, skill and attitude to develop the feasible / optional solution which is cost effective. He also explained that the Mathematics is used in every activity we do in our lives. STEM is a benefit of practicing it in early age apart from theories, but practical knowledge, helps us to think critically. He concluded by saying that we need to keep on trying things until we achieve our goals. Finally the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Mohanathan pre-final year B.E/MCT. The webinar helped the students as well as staff in understanding the concept of STEM EDUCATION. The session was very informative and interesting. Totally 60 students got benefited from the session.
