The department of Mechatronics and Microbytes innovation club of Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day online webinar through Google Meet Platform titled on “MICRO MACHINING PROCESSES” on 28th April 2022. Mr. Harichandar.D, final year B.E/MCT welcomed the participants. Dr.M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, explained the fundamental fabrication methods of MEMS including photolithography, bulk micromachining, surface micromachining and high aspect-ratio micromachining; assembly, system integration and packaging of MEMS devices. Mr. Arulselvam.P final year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest. Dr.S. Selvakumar, Professor & Head, Roever Engineering College, Perambalur was the guest speaker. He pointed out the various opportunities exist in micro machining technology. He also discussed its applications for different types of electrically non-conducting materials. At the end of session, some potential areas of research, repeatability and minimizing the production time of each process have been discussed. Finally, the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.A. Jayasurya pre-final year B.E/MCT. The webinar helped the students as well as staff in understanding the concept of Micro Machining Processes. The session was very informative and interesting. Totally 65 students got benefited from the session.
