The Department of Mechatronics of Paavai Engineering College organized two days workshop on “Industrial Automation using PLC and SCADA” on 07.11.2022 & 08.11.2022. Mr. S. Ramachandran, third year B.E/MCT welcomed the participants. Dr.M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, explained about the importance of learning PLC and SCADA. He also gave inputs on how to utilize this concept into developing projects. Mr. Naveen.V, third year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest. Mr. P. Jayakumar, Managing Director, IOLOGIX Automation Solutions, Chennai. He explained the importance of learning new concept that will helpful in crating job opportunities. In the placement point of view, he pointed out different job positions which are available in the company when a fresher gets into it. He explained about interview stages and how to prepare strongly as a PLC programmer for a company. He also handled the class on basic, architecture, ladder logic programming and applications of PLC. He gave demonstration on PLC software. He trained the students on PLC ladder logic programming through software. Many of the students developed the PLC ladder logic program for basic control functions. At the end, vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Senthamil Selvan. M, third year B.E/MCT. The two days session was very informative and interesting. Totally 95 students got benefited from the workshop.
