The department of Mechatronics of Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day alumni guest lecture on “NEW AGE SOFTWARE TESTING” on 3rdJune 2022. Mr. Vithursan.S, final year B.E/MCT welcomed the participants. Dr.M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, explained about how software can be tested and the significance of why software should be tested. He also gave various inputs on how to select mini projects and main projects. Mr. Naveen.V, second year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest. Mr.K.M. Surya Prakash, Senior Test Analyst, Stradegi Solutions, Sholinganallur, Chennai explained the importance of Software testing and different types of software testing strategies. He enlightened students about the skills set required by Software Testers, the career path and also shared his personal industrial experience with the audience in automation of testing. He specially mentioned that Java and Python are the languages / scripts which are in demand in the field of testing.In addition, the guest speaker highlighted the skills which are mandatory for getting a job in the testing industry. In the placement point of view, the speaker spoke about different job positions which are available in the company when a fresher gets into it. Further, he also added how the internal training of different companies and internal interview for the project after training are carried out. Finally, he summed up his session by telling about interview stages and how to prepare strongly as a tester for a company. At the end, vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Bhuvanshankar.H, third year B.E/MCT. The session was very informative and interesting. Totally 225 students got benefited from the session.
