The department of Pharmaceutical Technology in association with Institutions Innovation Council (IIC-PEC) conducted a one-day seminar entitled “Innovation, Design thinking and Patent rights” on February 17, 2023 (Friday) at Kalam’s Chamber, Paavai Engineering College(Autonomous), Pachal. The students from Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Paavai College of Pharmacy and Research have attended the seminar. The resource person Er. Prasannan Srinivasan Ramalingam astonished with various information about patents, trademarks and other Intellectual Property Rights. He delivered few inspiring innovative project works and insist the importance of design thinking. He discussed about different biological resource websites for publishing a research work in high impact journals like Nature, Science direct, Elsevier, etc. He made a wonderful talk about advance science and their working in future prospective especially about ChatGPT (the open AI) with their pros and cons. He illustrated more details about Patent Filling (local and International) and Patent Co-operation Treaty (for International Patent application) with the duration and amount for application. He stated the procedure for filling local and international patent application with clear explanation. At the end of the session students interacted with the resource person and have clarified their queries.
