The Google Developer Student Club at Paavai Engineering College organised an enlightening NPTEL Awareness Session on November 27, 2023, at the Kalam Chamber.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. S. Vikram Raja, GDSC Lead, who set the tone for the session. Following this, Dr. M. Premkumar, the principal of Paavai Engineering College, delivered the presidential address. In his speech, he highlighted the remarkable achievements of Paavai students and underscored the importance of the NPTEL courses in shaping their educational journey.
Dr. B. Venkatesan, the GDSC Faculty Advisor, took the stage for the keynote address. He provided valuable insights into how NPTEL can significantly benefit students in their academic pursuits. The session continued with Mr. S. Vikram Raja, also a GDSC Lead and NPTEL star, taking the audience through various topics related to Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), providers of MOOCs, Swayam, NPTEL, NPTEL coordinators, NPTEL certification categories, NPTEL stars, NPTEL domain certifications, employability, and more.
His comprehensive overview served as a guide for students, shedding light on the diverse opportunities and avenues NPTEL offers. The session encouraged active participation and engagement, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the NPTEL ecosystem.
The event concluded with a networking session among students, fostering connections and discussions about the insights gained during the awareness session.
