The inauguration of Paavai Speakers Club was held on 25th March, 2023 in Kalams Chamber, Paavai Engineering College. The inauguration started with the Prayer song followed with Tamil Thaivazithu by the students. Chairman Sir along with the dignitaries lighted the Kuthuvilaku. The welcome address was delivered by Roshan kumar V, Student co-ordinator of Paavai Speakers Club.
The Chief Guest of the day was Thiru. GR.P.G.Rajan, Founder of 1234 foundation,Chennai. In the presidential address, Shri.CA.NV.Natarajan, Chairman Sir addressed the importance of the Speakers Club. He insisted that a good leader must be a good speaker and a good communicator. A short brief about the guest was done by Ms.Navena Evangelin from final year Biomedical Engineering. Thiru. GR.P.G.Rajan, Founder of 1234 foundation shared his experience in public speaking field. He said about the transformation of a person from “Who am I? to Who I am?” He also addressed the levels in a speech and speakology.
He threw light on various aspects of how to become an effective public speaker and also discussed the challenges to become a great orator. He gave the students many ideas and tips on improving vocabulary and insisted to read more and store more which will improvise the spontaneity of the content while we deliver. He also shared his experience in Junior Chamber International. He also embarked all the members on the importance of being a member of Speakers club and advised them to make the best use of the platform. Finally students were given opportunities to ask queries to the guest speaker. The session was really an interactive one with active participation of the students.
The vision, mission, objectives, the activities of the club was expounded by Ms.M J Safa Faren, Student Co-ordinator of Paavai Speakers Club. The session ended with the vote of thanks proposed by V.Shanmathi from third year ECE. Director Administration, Principal, Dean Academics, Professors from Faculty Development Department, Heads of various departments, faculty coordinators, and around 230 students from the Paavai Speakers club attended the session. The programme ended with a National anthem.
