The Department of EEE in association with Energy Club of Paavai Engineering College has conducted a one-day webinar on “ENERGY HARVESTING TECHNIQUES” from 06.00 p.m. to 07.00 p.m. on 26.10.2021 (Tuesday) through Microsoft Team platform. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, presided over the function and addressed that the significance of energy harvesting techniques and their application in recent technology. He also further stated that, the scope of energy harvesting technique in related job and placement.
Dr.S.ARUNMETHA, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication, Centre for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES), KLEF (Deemed to be University), Andhra Pradesh, India, was the guest speaker.
In his special address, he explained about energy harvesting techniques and different methods. In his presentation, he elaborated the basic concepts of Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications and challenges of IoT with respect to energy. He explained the different methods of power generation including both renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Further he clarified about Photovoltaic Effect, Solar Cells, Thermoelectric generators (TEG), Triboelectric Nano Generators (TENG), Piezo Electric Energy Harvesting (PE), RF Energy Harvesting (RFH) methods for collecting energy and he concluded by stating that the utilization status and R&D in energy harvesting techniques.
