The department of Mechatronics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day webinar on “Introduction to Block Chain Technology” on 30th August 2021. Mr. Thinesh S.B, Final Year B.E/Mechatronics delivered the welcome address. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, motivated the students to learn block chain technology and explained how Blockchain could change current business models to benefit the customer and client relationship and also discussed how Blockchain technology combined with IoT and AI creates synergies for organizations. Mr. Harish.B, third year B.E/Mechatronics introduced the chief guest. Ms. Gowthami.J, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kongu Engineering College, Erode. During the session, she explained the Introduction to Bit coin mining, followed by, she discussed the block chain technology and bit coin crypto currency, concepts and relevance of block chain, languages used in block chain contracts, deploying transactions on the block chain node, working on real-world block chain projects and block chain network. She discussed many major research challenges and technical gaps existing between theory and practice in crypto currency domain. To make the students understand better, the presentation barely had any technical terms and was explained well with many examples. The session was very interactive and multiple questions were presented giving everyone a chance to think including the speaker. This session is very useful for our students to familiarize the functional/operational aspects of crypto currency Ecosystem and able to understand the emerging abstract models for Block chain Technology. The students felt very enlightened and are eager for another guest session, since these sessions give students a chance to get acquainted with the buzz going around in the corporate world. At last, the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Harichandar.D, Final Year B.E/Mechatronics. Totally 110 persons were benefitted from this program.
