The department of Mechatronics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day webinar on “ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING” on 10th June 2021. Mr.S.Vithursan, Third Year B.E/MCT welcomed the 2nd, 3rd and final year students of the Department of Mechatronics. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, motivated the students to learn, the process of digital 3D design data innovate and discover new things oriented to the industrial field. Mr.S.B.Thinesh, Third year B.E/MCT introduced the chief guest. Dr.P.M.GOPAL, Assistant Professor, Department Mechanical Engineering, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. During the session, he enlightened the Additive Manufacturing is a specific 3D printing process. He explained how Human-robot collaboration & delivering new levels of flexibility within smart factory environments. He briefed about the concerns regarding cybersecurity and other priorities for capital expenditure. He finally explained the vast opportunities available in Additive Manufacturing. He stated that there is a large gap between the demand and the supply of skilled persons in Additive Manufacturing. Almost 80% of the companies have a shortage of resources in Additive Manufacturing. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.B.Harish, Second Year B.E/MCT. The webinar helped the students as well as staff in understanding the new innovative things. The session was very informative and interesting.
