The Department of Physics, Paavai Engineering College organized a one-day webinar on “Modern Techniques for Material Characterization” on 19thJuly, 2021. Mrs.S.Kavitha, ASP/Physics Paavai Engineering College welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address in the webminar. Dr.S.Vadivel, Professor & Head of the Department organized a wonderful session and gave the informative talk about importance of characterizationtechniques. Prof.M.Mohan, Professor & Head, Science and Humanities, introduced the keynote speaker of the day. The Keynote Speaker for the day was Dr.K.Ramachandran Assistant Professor (Sr.Grade), Department of Physics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus, Chennai. During the session he explained about the process of producing nano particle sand how the materials are characterized by using various techniques like Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)working principle with advantage and disadvantages. Finally He explained how the recording of the images by using microscope. Faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the program.
