The campaign started in the presence of Principal Dr.M.Premkumar, Guest Speakers Ms.Baby Prishkilla, Senior Counselor and Ms.Siyamala, Case worker, One Stop Centre, Faculty Coordinator Mrs.A.Samundeeswari, AsP, ECE along with the girl students of all the departments.
The Presidential address was delivered by Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, in which he highlighted educating the concept of elimination of violence against women to the girls as well as boys. He motivated the girl students to be bold and courage enough to express their day to day problems faced to their parents, teachers or other higher officials in their institution.
The session was carried over by the guest speaker Ms Baby Prishkilla, Senior Counselor, One Stop Centre, on the title violence against women, in which she gave a brief about 5 forms of violence against women, helplines for women, self defense mechanism. She made the students to understand the importance of SoS and Shebox applications.
Another guest Ms.Siyamala explained about the process that their One Stop Centre focusing on women safety in case of rescuing, counseling, legal support and provision of shelter.
Ms.Cherub Ebenezer, III year CSE welcomed the gathering. Ms.R.Prasannapriya, II year BME proposed the vote of thanks. Ms.S.Sretharssene Introduced the guests to the gathering.
