The Department of EEE, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), conducted a guest lecture on the title, POWER ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN MICROGRID on 06.03.2019. Dr.K.K.RAMASAMY, Director – Administration, Paavai Institutions and Dr.M.PREMKUMAR, Principal, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) graced the occasion. In his presidential address, Dr.K.K.RAMASAMY, Director – Administration, insisted the students to consider this kind of guest lecture as an opportunity to know the advancements in the field of power management in microgrid. He also insisted the need of developing the skills in their respective domains and learning other languages which would help them during their career. Knowledge upgradation is quite necessary and there is always a constant opportunity for effective electrical engineers. Dr. ABU ZAHARIN BIN AHMAD, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia, was the chief guest. In his lecture, he spoke about the power generation using renewable and conventional energy sources. Interconnection of various energy sources such as PV Cells, wind, fossil fuels, and energy storage equipment such as battery, fuel cell were explained. He mentioned about the hierarchy of microgrid. He also explained about SCADA system concepts for microgrid. He insisted the participants to shape themselves according to the needs of the society as they are in the period of innovation. Ms.S.A.Mubeena Begam of final year EEE welcomed the gathering and Ms.S.Thamarai Selvi of final year EEE proposed the vote of thanks.
