The National Service Scheme – NSS team, Paavai Engineering College, Government Hospital, Namakkal and Government Hospital, Rasipuram commemorates75years of Independence through a Blood Donation Camp organized in the college premises on 11.08.22. Dr.A.Anbumalar, Blood Bank Medical Officer, Government Hospital, Namakkal was the guest speaker. Ms.R.Santhiya, B.Tech.-Pharma, Third year, Paavai Engineering College, welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, presided over the function. In his presidential address, he highlighted the importance of donating blood to the needy patients. He also appreciated the NSS team for the various services rendered by them continuously throughout the years.
The chief guest, Dr.A.Anbumalar, appreciated the college students for their voluntary blood donation. She explained about the importance of blood donation, benefits of blood donation, types of donors and the details of blood banks in Tamil Nadu and their duties. He also explained the effect of insecure tattoos and the hazardous effects of it.
In the camp, Dr.Sudha, Medical Officer, Primary Health Center, Pudhuchattram, Health Inspectors and Mr.C.Rathnakumar, NSS Programme Officer, Paavai Engineering College were present and they encouraged the students to donate blood. The students of Paavai Engineering College eagerly participated in the camp and donated their blood. Totally 131 students (81 students Government Hospital, Namakkal and 50 students Government Hospital, Rasipuram) donated their blood. Finally, certificate of appreciation and refreshments were given to the donors as a token of gratitude.The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. J.Jeyasenaadhi, B.Tech. – Cyber Security, Third year, Paavai Engineering College.
